Cold walls? Start with the right assessment.
A room can feel uncomfortable even when the heating is on. Explore cork-based treatments for suitable internal and external walls, with a specification that considers your whole building.
Plan the preparation and finish.
Consider access, surface preparation, protection and the finishing layers alongside the chosen product. Confirm the work needed for your wall before ordering materials or agreeing an installation.

Understand the wall before choosing a finish.
Start by checking the existing construction, condition and sources of moisture. The choice of insulation, preparation and finishing layers should follow that assessment.
Internal walls
Trowel-applied cork may form part of an internal wall build-up. DECO 00 FINO is described in the existing datasheet as an insulating basecoat on cold walls before skim plastering.

A spray-applied finish and a cork-board insulation system have different roles. Compare the complete build-up, required thermal performance and suitability for your property.

Include ventilation, heating, leaks and other moisture sources in the assessment. A coating alone does not resolve every cause of damp or mould.
Read the mould guide →A practical route from concern to specification.
- Share the context. Tell us your postcode, building type, affected rooms and what you have noticed. Include photographs where possible.
- Assess the cause. Agree whether an on-site survey or specialist assessment is needed before selecting materials.
- Confirm the build-up. Check preparation, product grade, thickness, finishing layers and ventilation requirements.
- Plan the installation. Request a project quotation from a suitable applicator, or technical guidance if you are buying for an assessed project.
Your questions, answered.
Can cork insulation help with cold walls?
Cork-based materials can form part of an insulation specification. The appropriate product and thickness depend on the wall and the performance required. Ask for the proposed build-up and evidence relevant to your project.
Will it stop condensation and mould?
Do not rely on a coating as a standalone cure. Assessment should consider surface temperatures, ventilation, heating and moisture sources, and identify the work required to address the cause.
How much will the work cost?
A meaningful quotation needs the area, wall condition, access, preparation and agreed system. Shop prices cover the listed materials; they do not establish an installed project price.
Can I buy the materials myself?
Yes, the shop lists available products. Confirm compatibility, quantities and the application requirements before ordering. Ask about training or an Approved Applicator if you need installation support.
