ECOPROCORK® · Architects, specifiers & property teams

Plan the build-up.
Specify with confidence.

System guidance for housing, public-sector and commercial projects. Start with the building, intended outcome and evidence required for the complete specification.

Evidence before selection

Start with the documents.

Check that each document applies to the proposed product, substrate, thickness and complete build-up. A product value or project photograph does not establish whole-building performance.

A useful project brief

Bring the building.
Define the outcome.

Share the location, building use, substrate, condition, approximate area, exposure and intended outcome. Include photographs, drawings, previous investigations and any programme or procurement constraints where available.

Request project guidance

Confirm before installation

  • Moisture sources, movement and failing surfaces.
  • Preparation, compatible materials and installed thickness.
  • Junctions, openings, membranes and other system details.
  • Applicable fire, thermal and moisture evidence.
  • Installer competence, inspection and maintenance requirements.

Cork coating is not interchangeable with a complete insulation upgrade. Roof waterproofing depends on the specified membrane and details.

SLICS-C · Coastal Protection

A cork-based exterior route for coastal homes, hotels and exposed frontages.

For specifiers & design teams

  • Bring exposure into the brief: coordinate substrate condition, salt-laden air, wind-driven rain, junctions and the required finish.
  • Choose a coherent build-up: assess direct-to-substrate, reinforced-basecoat or coordinated cork-board insulation routes.
  • Plan for ownership: consider maintenance access, periodic inspection and care requirements alongside appearance.

For contractors & project teams

  • Define the work clearly: agree repairs, preparation, compatible layers and representative sample areas.
  • Connect equipment and technique: plan product grade, mixing, spray setup, coat sequence and drying conditions.
  • Deliver a useful handover: record the agreed scope, application checks and written maintenance and warranty terms.

SLICS-M · Marine Insulation

Internal cork insulation for boats and narrowboats, including assessed barge and houseboat conversions.

For specifiers & boatbuilders

  • Work with the vessel: consider a compact cork layer around accessible contours, framing and interior space constraints.
  • Coordinate the fit-out: integrate cork with the full insulation, lining, ventilation, heating and moisture-control design.
  • Make details buildable: plan access, services, joints, penetrations and inspections before closing the lining.

For contractors & fit-out teams

  • Cover complex shapes: spray accessible curves and framing with less cutting and fitting around each detail.
  • Prove the preparation: agree corrosion treatment, cleaning, compatible primers and trial-area adhesion.
  • Build with control: specify successive coats, total dry thickness, drying conditions and coverage checks.

Get equipped. Get trained. Deliver the agreed system.

Explore the product range and compatible equipment, then develop practical application skills at the ECOPROCORK Academy. Bring your coastal or boat-interior project to the training discussion so the method matches the work.

Evidence for the proposed application.

Use the system pages and Technology & Quality to review evidence in context, then confirm the current grade-specific documents for procurement and installation.

Historical salt-spray testing concerns the documented specimens; it does not establish service life, general corrosion protection or immersion suitability. C-s1,d0 is a sprayed-cork reaction-to-fire result within its tested scope, not marine approval or a classification of every complete lining. Obtain current thermal design data and assess the whole wall or vessel build-up. Confirm applicable fire requirements, installation competence, maintenance and written warranty terms for the project. Open the technical evidence library.

Project proof, with context.

Review completed projects and customer experiences alongside the proposed specification. Project photographs demonstrate appearance; they do not replace test evidence for your building.

Need training or business support?

For contractors developing their cork services, follow the trade and Academy pathway. Maintenance teams can discuss practical training alongside the requirements of their housing or commercial project.

Course attendance does not guarantee approval. Optional business support, assessment requirements, availability and any fees must be agreed separately.
