Cork material being mixed during practical applicator training

Document library · access and supplied sources reviewed 19 October 2026

Find the right document.

Start with the web datasheet, download its current web-edition PDF, then open the underlying manufacturer document. Safety summaries explain the supplied source; they do not replace a current manufacturer SDS.

Know what you are opening: a web-edition PDF is an ECOPROCORK summary generated from the current page. A manufacturer sheet records its own issue date and product scope. A laboratory report records a particular test specimen and method. An archived report is evidence of that historical test, not confirmation that every current grade or complete installation has been certified.

1,000 hours in neutral salt spray.

AIDICO IT130117 · UNE-EN ISO 9227:2006 · 31 July 2013. The tested cork-coated fibreglass specimens showed no visible change or observed adhesion defect. The metal side oxidised; its cork-coated face showed no apparent change.

Historical specimen test, not a service-life prediction or certification of every masonry façade. Read the tested substrates and limits alongside the result.

AIDICO IE134173 · adhesion, water, ageing & thermal annex

Issued 9 September 2013. Complete 12-page public copy, with Spanish report text and bilingual AITEX 2013AN1713 thermal annex. A personal identifier in the digital certificate details is redacted; all pages and test results remain.

Open complete report (PDF) · Read the findings and thermal discrepancy

Adhesion was tested on prepared concrete; water permeability on coated mortar. The thermal annex reports 0.0588 W/(m·K) and 0.1401 m²·K/W while referring to an estimated 3 mm specimen. Those entries do not reconcile through R = d/λ. Do not use the reported resistance as a verified 3 mm design value; obtain clarification.

AITEX GMAT19/022v2 · coated fibrocement microscopy

Issued 15 October 2019; 13 pages, Spanish. Surface microscopy of uncoated fibrocement, cork coating and coated fibrocement. The report found no exposed fibrous structure in the examined coated surface.

Open original characterisation report (PDF)

This is surface-characterisation evidence. It does not establish airborne fibre-release performance, long-term durability, a safe working method or approval for every roof. Read HSE asbestos-survey guidance.

Application documents

Evidence status · reviewed 19 October 2026

Reviewed laboratory evidence: AIDICO IT130117 records the 1,000-hour neutral salt-spray results for the tested fibreglass and metal specimens. Read the result and full report → AITEX 2024AN1825 supports C-s1,d0 for its documented sprayed-cork specimen and mounting. Read the limits and open both original report sets →. This does not classify every cork grade, FINO, TLICS™ or a different wall assembly.

Manufacturer-reported values: the DECOPROCAL web edition now distinguishes the readable manufacturer-hosted mortar data from the older English sheet’s unit and fixing conflicts. No printed issue date or underlying strength/conductivity reports have been verified.

Before specification: request the current grade-specific declaration, safety sheet and full applicable reports. A listed test method or management-system logo alone does not establish product or whole-system certification.

Confirm the current product version, document revision and suitability for your complete build-up before specification or installation. An archived source PDF should not be assumed to be the latest manufacturer issue.

Test reports, application and safety.

Specify the system, not just the material

Match every document to your project.

Product names, test conditions and installation details matter. Ask for evidence that relates to the exact material, substrate, thickness and complete build-up you intend to use.

Product & safety datasheets

Use the open document index above, then confirm the current technical and safety datasheets for every specified component. Check preparation, mixing, coverage, application conditions, drying, storage and handling.

System & installation guidance

Confirm the sequence of preparation, primers, cork layers and finishes. Include junctions, openings, repairs, substrate limitations and maintenance requirements.

Test reports & classifications

Ask for the report reference, issuing organisation, test standard and date. Check the tested specimen, thickness and field of application before citing thermal, fire, acoustic, adhesion or moisture-related results.

Warranty & project requirements

Request the current written terms for the proposed products and installation. Confirm the provider, eligibility, duration, exclusions, maintenance and claim process.

Document status & what still needs confirmation

Library review: 19 October 2026. This records access checks and comparison with the supplied document collection. Source revision dates are independent of upload dates and this review date.

  • Safety: supplied DECOIMPER and DECOCORK sheets are dated 2 February 2024; DECOPROCAL 1 December 2022; DECOUNION XL 3 January 2019. Sprayed-cork safety information has no printed issue date. Current UK-supply SDS revisions have not been confirmed.
  • FINO: a product-specific SDS is not present in the supplied collection.
  • Thermal: the historical sprayed-cork report and datasheet differ, and the annex’s resistance/thickness entries need written clarification.
  • Declarations: obtain current grade-specific declarations and the applicable complete-system evidence. Manufacturer management-system certificate scope and expiry remain to be confirmed.

Old reports remain accessible as historical evidence. No document is labelled “latest manufacturer issue” solely because it was uploaded or reviewed recently. Ask for the document or clarification your project needs.

A useful evidence checklist

Five questions before you specify.

01 / Which product?

Use its full name and version. Evidence for one formulation does not automatically apply to another.

02 / Which build-up?

Identify substrate, preparation, primer, installed thickness and finish. Check that the evidence covers the intended combination.

03 / Which result?

Distinguish a material property, a tested assembly and a calculation for the building. They answer different questions.

04 / Which limitations?

Read the conditions and exclusions, including exposure, application method and the use for which the result is valid.

05 / Which responsibility?

Agree who prepares the specification, assesses the substrate, completes installation and records the work.

Thermal and moisture performance

Material data needs building context.

Ask for a labelled build-up or installation detail for the proposed system, showing the substrate, preparation, each layer and installed thickness.

A thermal-conductivity value alone is not a wall U-value, an EPC improvement or an energy-saving forecast. Thickness and the full construction are part of the assessment.

Likewise, vapour permeability does not establish a complete moisture strategy. Existing coatings, leaks, exposure, ventilation and the proposed wall build-up need to be considered together.

Discuss a specification →

Roof applications

For SLICS-R™ projects, request a roof-specific build-up and confirm the waterproofing components and details. The cork layer alone is not a standalone waterproofing specification.

Fire performance

Request the relevant classification and its scope for the proposed application. Do not substitute a general product description for the evidence needed for the complete construction.

Tell us what you need to substantiate.

Include the project location, building use, proposed application, substrate, desired build-up and the performance information your design team needs. The team can confirm which documents and guidance are relevant.

Products, systems, training and installation quality

A reliable specification connects the product documents, complete build-up and practical application method. Our Academy develops spray and trowel skills, including preparation, equipment handling and workmanship checks. Training attendance and Approved Applicator status remain separate. Laboratory reports describe the tested specimen and conditions. Practical trials and installation records help assess handling, substrate preparation and repeatability, but cannot replace laboratory certification. Ask which evidence is available for your exact application. For quality assurance, agree the specification and responsibilities before work begins. Record the substrate condition, materials, batch references, installed thickness, application conditions and inspection results. Retain these with the applicable warranty terms and maintenance guidance. Explore Academy training, the Approved Applicator directory and why cork is used in building products.
