Heritage retrofit · Various properties · Hove

A heritage approach to coastal resilience.

Specified for historic frontages, FINO-grade cork forms part of a heritage approach to retrofit insulation across various properties in Hove, including hotels and seafront buildings.

These projects use SLICS-H externally and TLICS interior cork internally, with attention to the character of existing frontages, period detailing and the agreed scope for each property.

Salt exposure, lichen, black mould, cracking and repeated maintenance are key considerations in the coastal brief. The aim is a resilient finish, improved thermal comfort and a lower maintenance burden, with preparation and system selection matched to each building.

The project account reports that the client was pleased with the renovation. The photographs show the finish; measured temperature, salt-exposure durability and maintenance outcomes are not established by this record.
