ECOPROCORK® · Building problem guide
Start with your building problem: recurring mould, cold walls, failed render, coastal exposure or an ageing commercial roof. Compare assessed cork-system options.
A cold room, flaking exterior or leaking roof needs a different investigation. ECOPROCORK’s SLICS™ exterior, TLICS™ internal and SLICS-R™ roof routes are specified for different applications. The right next step depends on the cause, substrate, required performance and competent installation.
Cleaning and repainting may leave the moisture cause unresolved. Record the rooms, timing, leaks and previous treatment. Discuss investigation of ventilation, heating, defects and cold surfaces before choosing a finish. Start with the mould assessment guide or understand recurring mould. A TLICS build-up may be considered for a suitable cold wall within that plan.
Compare the required thermal improvement with the available space, existing construction and moisture design. Thin cork treatment and thicker board insulation have different roles. Explore cold walls and compare retrofit options.
Investigate movement, adhesion and water ingress before covering defects. Exposed walls also need attention to salts, junctions and maintenance. Assess cracked render, read the Kings Norton project account or explore coastal specifications.
A roof assessment should establish whether refurbishment is feasible and which repairs and waterproofing are needed. Suspected asbestos requires specialist assessment before preparation or access. Explore commercial roof refurbishment. General applicator approval does not establish asbestos-work competence.
