Looking for the consumer paint-on product? Use our illustrated DECOCORK DIY guide for cold-wall condensation. The instructions below are for the professional DECO 00 FINO / TLICS trowel system.
These DECO 00 FINO instructions are an illustrated reminder for competent applicators using the product in an agreed TLICS™ internal-wall specification. Follow the current technical and safety datasheets and the requirements of the actual substrate and complete build-up.

1. Assess and prepare
- Establish the moisture cause and address leaks, penetrating or rising damp, defects, heating and ventilation as required.
- Confirm that existing plaster is sound, well bonded and dry. Remove loose finishes, wallpaper and friable material.
- Treat visible mould using a suitable product and its safety instructions, then allow the wall to dry.
- Complete an adhesion trial. Protect floors and adjacent surfaces. Agree compatible preparation, any required primer and the complete finishing sequence.
2. Mix the material

Follow the current batch mixing instructions. The supplied illustrated guide describes approximately 200 ml for rinsing the bag; the existing technical datasheet describes approximately 300 ml. Confirm the correct total with ECOPROCORK before adding water. Allow the material to stand briefly and remix as instructed.

3. First coat · Bay 1

- Use a clean stainless-steel trowel. Work the material firmly onto the background and leave it flat and even.
- The illustrated guide gives a typical first-coat thickness of 2–3 mm. Use and check the agreed total thickness.
- Allow the coat to dry fully before proceeding.
4. Second coat · Bay 2

- Apply the second coat and level it with a clean trowel or suitable finishing spatula.
- The guide gives 1–2 mm for this coat and approximately 3–4 mm for the combined cork layer. Confirm the specified combined thickness; do not add maximum coat allowances as a default.
- Allow to dry fully. The technical source gives 48 hours for a 3 mm layer at 20°C; actual drying depends on site conditions.
5. Plaster skim · Bay 3

Finish using normal plastering techniques and allow to dry fully before the specified paint or wallcovering. Confirm compatibility of all layers. The guide describes approximately 5 mm overall including skim; this is a nominal example and does not establish a whole-wall U-value or guaranteed condensation outcome.
DECO 00 FINO instructions and support
- Record substrate assessment, product and batch, preparation, coat thicknesses, conditions and drying checks.
- Inspect coverage, bond, edges, junctions and finish. Keep photographs with the specification and inspection record.
- Follow the current SDS, risk assessment and appropriate PPE arrangements. Clean tools with water and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Keep warranty terms and maintenance guidance with the job. Course attendance and Approved Applicator status are separate.
A thin treatment does not replace a complete insulation-board system. Condensation and mould outcomes depend on the wall, moisture sources, heating, ventilation and full build-up.
